The fund was established by friends and alumni of the German program in honor of the late Professor William McClain, who was a member of the Hopkins faculty from 1953-1982. The fund provides dissertation support for a doctoral candidate in German.
Two grants in the amount of $1,250 each will be awarded to graduate students in the German Program to support their dissertation research from May 15 to August 14, 2018. Students in the German program who have completed their qualifying papers and have obtained ABD status are eligible to apply.
