The William H. McClain Dissertation Fund was established by friends and alumni of the German program in honor of the late Professor William McClain, who was a member of the Hopkins faculty from 1953 to 1982. The fund provides dissertation support for a doctoral candidate in German.
The amount of $2,500 is to be awarded to a graduate student in German to support their dissertation research from May 15 to August 15, 2013. Students in German who have completed their qualifying papers and have obtained ABD status are eligible to apply.
