Employment Opportunities French Faculty Search The Department of German and Romance Languages and Literatures at Johns Hopkins University seeks to appoint a 20th & 21st century French Literature specialist beginning Fall 2010. An additional competence in Francophone studies will be welcome. This is an open rank search for those qualified in the specified disciplines. Applicants must have a Ph.D., native or near-native fluency in French, and publications demonstrating the ability to do research consistent with the expectations of a major research university. German Faculty Search The Department of German and Romance Languages and Literatures invites applications for a position in German at the level of full or associate professor beginning Fall 2010. Although the field of specialization is open, the department is especially interested in applicants working in the 18th century with equal emphasis on German literature and thought. Expertise in other periods as well as a second field (political theory, history of religion, philosophy, media studies, literary theory, visual culture, etc.) are essential for the post. Candidates are expected to provide a distinguished record of research and teaching. Demonstrated administrative experience is also desirable.
