The Department of German and Romance Languages and Literatures at Johns Hopkins is proud to sponsor the Xi Tau chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the French National Honor Society. The Xi Tau chapter of Johns Hopkins University was recognized in 2011.
To join, undergraduates need not major or minor in French but must have taken at least one upper-level (beyond intermediate) French course at Johns Hopkins; graduate students must be pursuing degrees in French.
To qualify as a regular member, you must:
- Have a 3.0 GPA minimum in French classes
- Have a 2.8 minimum GPA overall
- Rank in the top 35% of your graduating class.
Honorary membership is available for those who do not meet all three requirements; it is also available for alumni and faculty at large.
If you are interested in joining Pi Delta Pi, please print and fill out the top half of the application form. Applications for the next induction are due by March 10, 2016.
Please drop the completed form and a check by Thursday, March 10, at 5 p.m. with Philomen Allen, Gilman 401. The amount is $30 for a regular membership and $15 for an honorary membership. Checks should be made payable to Johns Hopkins University.
