Spanish/Latin American Essay Competition Open to Undergrads

The Department of German and Romance Languages and Literatures Announces the Severn Teackle Wallis Memorial Prize

The amount of $250 shall be awarded for an essay or other original work on Spanish or Latin American literature, literary history, culture, or art.

Competition open to undergraduate students only. Essays or other original works must have been written for any culture or literature course offered by the Department of German and Romance Languages and Literatures (300 level or above). Essays or other original works must be written in Spanish. Topics for submissions are limited to Spanish or Latin American literature, literary history, culture, or art. No anonymous submissions will be considered.

Submissions must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014.

Submissions will be accepted by email (.doc, .docx, or .pdf format only) or by hard copy to:
